CourseCareers has self-paced courses that you can start and finish at any time. Some students are full-time and some are part-time. You will have access to the course indefinitely but we ask that you take your final exam within one year of purchasing the course. As soon as you enroll in the course, you will also have access to our student Discord community to network with everyone in the course 24 hours a day. Your peers will be there to help you along, answer questions, give advice, and give moral support. Students can also search the discord channel for previously shared information and answers to questions.
If you need additional help, beyond direct messaging your instructor on Discord and your fellow students, we will be giving you access to a list of coaches that can help you through your journey into a successful career. Currently, we only have coaches for the tech sales course but we are in the process of lining up coaches for our other courses. Please refer to this FAQ for more about coaches.
At the time of writing this, each course is either a one-time price of $499 or 4 bi-weekly (every two weeks) payments of $150. We have a 14-day refund period. After 14 days, no refunds or switching courses can be processed.
There is a proctored final exam that requires either a laptop or a PC that meets these minimum technical requirements. For the IT course, your laptop or PC must be able to use some kind of Remote Desktop client. All other course activities can be done on most internet-connected devices. If you were able to take the free introduction course using the device then the paid course lessons will also work.
We teach our students how to market themselves on LinkedIn, how to prepare their resumes, how to interview, and how to get interviews. This gives our graduates a broad range of employment choices. Once a student graduates from the course, they have access to our Graduate Portal where they create a profile, with a unique link, to share with employers. By answering questions about job experience, education, etc. our software will create a nicely formatted resume that is included in the profile along with audio answers, their highest final exam score, photo, and other searchable fields. All graduates receive a CourseCareers certificate of completion which can be downloaded from their Graduate Portal.
We market our graduate profile database to employers. Graduates can choose to make their profile non-searchable which is recommended once they get a job and are off the market. Employers search the database for free and when they find a candidate they are interested in, they request an interview. The graduate can deny or accept the interview. If they accept the interview, the employer will be charged a fee for the graduate's contact information. Ultimately, it is up to the employers who they decide to interview and hire.
Most of our graduates get interviews and jobs within the first six weeks after completing the course. The economy and job market do play a part. Also, much depends on the student; how motivated they are, their communication skills, their course knowledge, how they present themselves, etc. Every company has its own policies on work visas, high school diplomas, criminal records, DWIs, work hours, etc. which we are not involved with.
Even in this economy, there are still lots of jobs out there.
